Common and useful Spanish expressions

Fortunately for us, and especially for myself, spring is coming, little by little, but I am sure it will come true sooner rather than later, "más pronto que tarde".

“When spring came, even the false spring, there were no problems except where to be happiest. The only thing that could spoil a day was people and if you could keep from making engagements, each day had no limits. People were always the limiters of happiness except for the very few that were as good as spring itself”. Ernest Hemingway said.

In Spain, we say: “La primavera la sangre altera”. It means literary that the spring makes your blood goes crazy. Maybe, you have fallen in love with someone and you can understand the real meaning of this expression ;-)

While we are writing this article it is starting to rain in Prilep, but you can say to yourself:“Al mal tiempo buena cara”. It is: “Every cloud has a silver lining”, so “put on a brave face”.

Anyway, with or without love, “Después de la tormenta, siempre llega la calma”.“After the storm, always comes the calm”, so, after one of the coldest winters, spring will be finally here and summer holidays are around the corner. Las vacaciones de verano están a la vuelta de la esquina. But, until such time as this happens, we have to work, so, don´t leave till tomorrow what you can do today: “No dejes para mañana lo que puedas hacer hoy”.

Spanish music

Also, you can enjoy while you are working. Listen to this song: “La primavera trompetera”, by ‘Los delincuentes’.

Maybe, at this very moment, Monday is getting better.
