Once upon a time...

 Today is World Book Day.

The connection between 23 April and books was first made in 1923 by booksellers in Catalonia as a way to honor the author Miguel de Cervantes, who died on this date. Miguel de Cervantes, from Spain, wrote ‘Don Quijote de la Mancha’, one of the most important novels around the world. Most people are familiar with this sentence: “Somewhere in la Mancha, in a place whose name I do not care to remember, a gentleman lived not long ago, one of those who has a lance and ancient shield on a shelf and keeps a skinny nag and a greyhound for racing”. It is the first line of the book “Don Quijote de la Mancha”, also known in Macedonia.

Also, the Spanish writer Garcilaso de la Vega, died on 23 April, and William Shakespeare did it too, but good literature never dies.
